I provide Holistic Psychotherapy, talk therapy with an emphasis on present moment awareness of thoughts, feelings and body sensations, to Individual Adults and Couples.
I received my M.A. in Somatic Psychology from JFK University in Pleasant Hill. In addition to my work with Adults, I have worked with Middle and High School students at Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Academy, a charter, public school in East Oakland, providing individual counseling.
Ever since I was young, I dreamt of helping people and making a difference in their lives. As I grew older, my vision became clearer. I knew I wanted to help people, using a combination of the mind and body – a holistic approach. I have cultivated this holistic approach to counseling, not only from my professional studies, but also from my many years of experience as a professional dancer, as a student of a Brazilian spiritual tradition (which uses dance, song and drumming as a form a prayer), and a lover and believer in Somatic therapies. These personal experiences all deeply inform the way I work, serving as a constant reminder that one’s personal growth is a multi-dimensional, layered process.
